The St Petersburg Pier, located in Florida Tampa Bay, is a landmark for the City and was in need of replacement. The City of St Petersburg has approved design and construction of the New Pier.

 

Humiston & Moore Engineers was part of the design team led by ASD | SKY Rodgers Partners and provided coastal engineering services during design and permitting of the New Pier. Such services included computation of wave load during a several storm scenarios. A CMS-Wave model was setup to evaluate the wave climate and determine critical wave conditions during a 100-year storm. The results were used to evaluate the wave loading on the pier structural elements. The computations were provided to the structural engineer for consideration in the design. Other tasks included the design and of a breakwater, beach area and evaluation of FEMA flood zones.
